AIR645 is Altair’s lead drug candidate, a dual inhibitor of interleukin-4 (IL-4) and IL-13, administered by inhalation. AIR645 is initially being developed for asthma and rhinitis. Potential attributes of AIR645 are: 1) potent non-steroidal anti-inflammatory action specifically targeted against the underlying molecular signature of allergic asthma and rhinitis; 2) greater patient convenience due to projected once-weekly administration; and 3) cost-competitive, adjunctive therapy to inhaled corticosteroids to provide enhanced asthma control.
