Data from a double-blind, placebo-controlled, single and multiple dose, Canadian Phase I trial (AIR645-CSI) in 72 evaluable healthy volunteers showed that nebulized AIR645 was well tolerated and had dose-dependent exposure in the airways. The single doses ranged from 0.03-30 mg and multiple doses ranged from 0.3-20mg. No serious adverse events or dose-limiting toxicities were observed. The trial has enrolled 80 subjects, including 8 asthma patients. Data were presented at the American Thoracic Society meeting in San Diego. Isis granted Altair exclusive rights to the product in 2007 (see BioCentury, Oct. 22, 2007).
